We accept the love we think we deserve.

“Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.” ~ Oscar Wilde

Saturday was on of those days me and my sister spend a relaxing day shopping. Sometimes you just need to go out and do whatever it is you want to do. I really wanted to go shopping for a while. Each of us had a few items in our mind, but unfortunately we didn't come back home with everything we wanted. But it gives us a new opportunity to go back ones more.

We had dinner in Antwerp, typical Belgian food. I think we try to come up with excuses to go out and have dinner. Going home with the train was a little more stressful though. Luckily we made the train and got home at a decent hour.

Let's Start With Breakfast

~"It's not a diet, it's called eating healthy"

I started eating muesli in the morning combined with fresh fruits. Normally I don't eat in the morning and I wanted to change that.
So I did some research about muesli, which is very popular at the moment. A healthy breakfast should include +/- 400 kcal.
Choosing a healthy muesli is not that simple. Because it can contain a lot of sugar.
You should look carefully at the package of your muesli. The product should contain 350 kcal per 100grams and the percentage of fat should be less than 10 grams.
Your muesli should contain 50 to 70% off grains. I read about a simple trick to found out which product is most present in the package. The product that is written first, is most present. So chose the one who mentioned the grains first and the extras last.

Hope you liked this post. Stay healthy!

How to wear Maxi Skirts during Winter

"Orange? Like Effie's hair?' I say. "A bit more muted," he says. "More like a sunset kind of orange" ~ Suzanne Collins

I always loved maxi skirts. Mostly they are worn during summertime, but the trend this year made it possible for us to wear them in the winter period as well. You can combine it in different ways. I styled it with a comfy sweater, designed shorter in the front and longer in the back. A pair of comfortable ankle boots were the ideal fit, because of the long walks we had yet to do in Antwerp.

We went to the water to watch the sunset. It was beautiful. The colour was warm and made me disappear for a few seconds. It was a moment from pure intern happiness.
Orange is a colour that send out an enormous amount of energy. It gets his meaning out of the colours yellow and red. It stimulates you to think positive, be creative and helps you to get a good mood.

So if you are feeling down, go and search for a orange kind of sunset. Have a nice day maddies.

How I Lived On A Pound A Day

~“Don't think money does everything or you are going to end up doing everything for money.” - Voltaire

I'm reading a book (picture above) "How I lived on a pound a day written by Kath Kelly. It started as an impulsive idea, but then she wanted to test it for a whole year.
A friend of mine came over en gave me this book. 'It's something for you' He said. So I began this book with lots of curiosity and unbelief. How can you possible live on a pound a day?
I tried a couple of days to live on a pound a day, but it isn't easy. Kelly found washing-powder for 0,25 pound. The cheapest that I found here in Belgium was 2 euros. I could change my washing-powder in vinegar. It is available for less then 0,5 eurocent and you can use it for everything. Plus it's eco-friendly.

I will not test it for a whole year, but the book is inspiring and a little shocking to read.
I recommend this book to everyone. It gives you a new fresh view about how to spend your money.

Black and White

“Books bring alluring colors to our mundane black and white world.” ~ Caleb Reese

Black and white, good and bad, sun or shadow. It's never complete when one of them is missing, but isn't this what we call 'black and white" thinking. Nothing will ever be just black and white. Nothing will just be good or bad. Because we all know every color has different shades. "That is just a red wall". We all imagine the color, but it will never be the exact same in our minds. We might live in the shadows, but the shadow will vary, because the sun will never create the same shade twice. Dusk, dawn, twilight, there will always be an in between.

Do people sort subjects in boxes just to know what it means? Just to make sure they understand. Because, what would it feel like if they didn't figure out the answer. The unknowing dept off unquestioned answers. It might just frighten us.

Perhaps we ought to embrace the things we don't know. A dilemma always has two outcomes, but none of them will have a good or a bad ending. Because, in what context will it be good or bad. Making a decision was hard enough anyway.

London

"Education never ends. It is a series of lessons, with the greatest for the last" ~  Arthur Conan Doyle

We cut the knot! We'll be exploring London in November an entire week. We though about going for 3 days, but we wanted to see a lot more, so we made up our minds and planned a 5 day stay. With Belgian beers, a map and 'Time to momo London', the monument and museums were chosen. It's funny how we compared London with Antwerp for a moment thinking we could easily see everything in one day. But the two are non-comparable. London is divided in Neighborhoods. We are going to visit Marylebone, Westminster, ST. James's, Mayfair and Southwark.

Besides that we will be visiting the 'Harry Potter Studio Tour' as well, because we are enormous fans. Shopping trips and afternoon tea isn't excluded as well. We are excited to see the changing of the 'The Queen's Life Guard'. A lot of amazing museums are free and if we had more time we definitely would be visiting more museums besides the National Gallery and Tate Modern. The National Gallery has Painting from: Van Eyck, Botticelli, Rubens Turner, Constable,... I always wanted to see the paintings from William Turner up close! Hopefully they have some of his watercolors as well.  Tate Modern features Millais (Ophelia), Waterhouse, Turner, Degas, Picasso, Hirst, Pollock, Bacon, and a lot more. I think I can't express my enthusiasm enough about seeing a lot of art work I've been studying but never had the chance to see with my own eyes. I really look forward to seeing the Water-Lilies from Claude Monet!

Have you ever been to London? Is there something we should definitely see?
